Serbian Government extends decision on reduced fuel excise duties

The Serbian Government has extended the validity of its Decision on the Temporary Reduction of Excise Duties on Petroleum Products until 7 June 2026, according to a notice published in the Official Gazette.

The decision applies to several types of fuel, and the reduced excise duty rates will remain in force throughout the coming week.

Under the Government’s decision, the excise duty on leaded petrol will amount to 61.24 dinars per litre, while the excise duty on unleaded petrol will be 57.60 dinars per litre.

For gas oils, including diesel fuel, the excise duty will be set at 59.23 dinars per litre.

The temporary reduction in excise duties was introduced to mitigate the impact of rising petroleum product prices on the domestic market, following increases in crude oil prices on global exchanges.

The Serbian Government adopted its previous decision on reduced excise duties on 14 May, stating that the measure was intended to preserve market stability and ease pressure on both citizens and businesses.

By extending this decision, the Government is continuing its efforts to cushion the impact of fluctuations in global energy markets on fuel prices in Serbia.
