The Government of Serbia made a decision at today’s extraordinary session to ban the export of oil and all petroleum derivatives used for powering engines.
“The ban applies to the export of diesel, petrol and crude oil by all modes of transport until 19 March, after which we will make further decisions. The essence of this ban is to protect the domestic market from shortages and price increases caused by global disruptions on the world market,” said the Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, according to a statement from the Ministry.
She also reminded that Serbia is a country where citizens pay less for petroleum derivatives compared to their real market price on the exchange, and that the state is doing everything to protect both citizens and the economy.
