The National Parliament has adopted a set of laws concerning education, among which are amendments to the Law on the Fundamentals of the Education System, which define that the school year begins on September 1 and that the Serbian anthem should be played on that occasion.
In case the educational institution does not play the anthem, fines of 100,000 to 1 million dinars are envisaged.
Also, the school principal can be fined in the amount of 25,000 dinars to 100,000 dinars.
The law states that elementary school pupils should have at least four grades per semester or three grades if we are talking about high school students.
The Parliament also adopted the Law on Innovation, which, among other things, envisages the establishment of a network of science and technology parks.
“These are innovative facilities, startup centres, spin-offs, science and technology parks and organizations to support startups,” the Education, Science and Technological Development Minister, Branko Ružić, said.
