The commemoration for the anniversary of the death of Oliver Ivanovic was held yesterday in the crypt of the temple of St. Sava in Belgrade at 8.15 am.
“Oliver loved to go to the temple with his son Bogdan. It was a ritual when we were together in Belgrade, so this year I did the same with Bogdan,” said Milena Ivanovic, wife of the leader of the SDP civic initiative who was murdered in Kosovska Mitrovica on January 16, 2018, adding that it will become a tradition to gather in the temple every year with friends to remember Oliver.
The ceremony, led by Bishop Stefan, was attended by Oliver Ivanovic’s wife, Milena, her son and the Serbian Premier Ana Brnabic.
Also present were Ministers Nebojsa Stefanovic, Branko Ruzic, Nenad Popovic, Zoran Djordjevic, Rasim Ljajic, Mladen Sarcevic, Goran Knezevic, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, the Deputy Director of the Office Petar Petkovic and the State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, Veljko Odalovic, as well as friends and a number of citizens.
On behalf of the family, Bishop Stefan thanked all those who paid tribute to Oliver Ivanovic, underlining that no-one “will forget our people and we will never forget them”.
