Sailing on knight ship, dancing salsa or stargazing – this weekend in Belgrade and Novi Sad

It’s Thursday, and time for our report about the cultural and entertainment events coming up in the next few days.

BELGRADE

Event: Slavjana medieval ship cruise

Place: from the port in front of the Knights Park (opposite the former SIV), weather permitting

Time: 21st July at 2, 6 and 8pm

A replica of the Slavic medieval knight boat, SLAVJANA is now officially included in the Belgrade tourist offer. Tourists can now enjoy sailing on the Danube and the Sava on this one-of-a-kind boat that takes you on a journey through history. The Slavjana is a replica of the boat used in knight battles in the early medieval period in Slavic countries, more than 1,000 years ago. It is a gift from Russia, and it has sailed through eight countries and across seven seas for three years on a trip from Russia to Serbia. The boat guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the medieval times in Serbia and the life of Serbian knights during the cruise which lasts for 90 minutes. The tickets cost 1,200 dinars. Reservations are mandatory (please call +381 65 3703370).

Event: Salsa Night

Place: Barrio Latino Summer Stage

Time: 21st July, at 10:30pm

Who loves salsa? Everybody who likes this light Latin dance rhythm should come to the Kalemegdan Fortress on Saturday, at the Barrio Latino Summer stage which, for one night, is transformed into a salsa party central. Add a little Latin flavour to your life, enjoy in the great music and try Salsa!

NOVI SAD

Event: Astronomy camp

Place: Fruska Gora

Time: 19th to 22nd July

The 18th Astronomy Camp „Letenka“ starts on July 19th, and it will be located on the sports fields of Letenka on Fruska Gora. This year, the camp is organized as an integral part of the IPA project “VoBaNISTA”. The camp’s programme is quite versatile and consists of a series of lectures, workshops, demontrations, presentations, etc. The topics of lectures are always interesting and trending, while some of the programmes have a competitive character (a competition in the discovery of certain celestial objects, an astronomical quiz …). In order for us to organize the camp as best as possible, the organizers need you to announce your arrival (a simple e-mail will do). You need to state how many of you will be attending (if you’re bringing friends) and if you need a ride from Novi Sad to Letenka (and back). For more information, please click here .
