Russian ambassador says that Serbia could get more gas this winter from Russia

Russian Ambassador Aleksander Botsan-Hharchenko said on Tuesday that Serbia could get more natural gas than it contracted next winter.

“The basic amounts of gas are defined in the current contract but there is a possibility of additional amounts of gas during the winter if Serbia needs it. Everything will be resolved as in the existing contract,” he said.

“The basic issues have been set out in the contract and the contracted price is the best possible in current conditions. It suits Russia and allows for the development of Serbia and facilitates normal life here,” the Ambassador added.

He also said the gas transit through Bulgaria is going without any distractions but that there is cause for concern because relations between Moscow and Sofia are currently at a very low level.
