Retirement: New tougher requirements

As of 1st January 2018, the conditions for women’s retirement will be much tougher, as will the conditions for early retirement for both sexes.

According to the new regulation, women can retire at the age of 62 providing that they have at least 15 years of registered work experience. That is six months’ later than stipulated in the current legislation.

Retirement conditions for men remain the same – at least 65 years of age and 15 years of registered work experience.

The conditions for early retirement for women have also changed, and now women can retire early if they are at least 56 years and 4 months of age and have 38 years of registered working experience, while men will be able to retire early at the age of 57 and having 40 years of registered work experience.

In the next fourteen years, the retirement conditions will change gradually with the equal retirement criteria applied to women and men in the year 2032, i.e. both sexes will be entitled to retirement if they are at least 65 years of age and have at least 15 years of registered working experience.

The early retirement criteria will change in 2024 and also applied equally to men and women, i.e. they will be able to retire early providing they have turned 60 years old and have 40 years of registered working experience.
