REM: “Vucic’s electoral list is the most prominent in the Serbian media during election campaign”

The Electronic Media Regulatory Body (REM) has published a new overview of media service providers during the election campaign, from 30 May to 5 June.

The analysis shows that the electoral list “Aleksandar Vucic – Za nasu decu” was the most represented in the media in the observed period.

The electoral list, headed by the President of Serbia, was given 9 and a half hours of TV time, “Ujedinjena demokratska Srbija – UDS” 5 hours and 16 minutes, while the “Ivica Dacic – SPS, JS – Dragan Markovic Palma” electoral list was given 4 hours and 15 minutes of airtime.

Analysts, other campaign participants, State and Provincial Electoral Commission, REM and other campaign monitoring organizations appeared in the electronic media for a total of 32 hours.

Savez za Srbiju (The Alliance for Serbia) was on TV for 3 hours and 39 minutes, followed by the electoral list Sergej Trifunović – PSG with 3 hours and 53 minutes and the “Vojislav Seselj – Srpska radikalna stranka” list (3 hours and 26 minutes).

The electoral list “Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski – Srpska stranka Zavetnici” got the most airtime, a total of 51 minutes, on the first channel of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS), followed by the SRS with 10 minutes less and the electoral list “Savez vojvođanskih Mađara – Istvan Pastor” with 34 minutes. Aleksandar Vučić’s list got 16 minutes and 41 seconds.

On the PINK TV, Aleksandar Vučić got the most broadcast time, with one hour and five minutes, followed by SPS-JS with 29 and a half minutes and UDS with 21 minutes.

Aleksandar Vučić’s list was also the most prominent the Happy TV where it got one hour and 41 minutes of airtime, followed by UDS with 10 minutes less and Pokret Metla 2020 with one hour and three minutes.

The President also got most airtime on the B92 TV, 1 hour and 1 minute, followed by Metla with 43 minutes and UDS with 34 minutes.

According to REM’s report, the Alliance for Serbia got the most airtime the TV N1 with 2 hours and 44 minutes, followed by PSG, 1 hour and 58 minutes, and SPS-JS with 1 hour and 50 minutes. Vucic’s electoral list had only 1 hour and 29 minutes of airtime.
