Red light cameras installed in five locations in Belgrade

As of Friday, February 10th, eight cameras at five locations in Belgrade will be automatically detecting drivers running the red light.

The following intersections and pedestrian crossings will be covered:

  • Trgovacka and Jablanicka streets intersection in Cukarica
  • Francuska and Gospodar Jovanova streets intersection
  • Mihajla Pupina Boulevard and Milentija Popovica intersection
  • Despota Stefana Boulevard and Cvijiceva Street intersection
  • Kralja Aleksandra Boulevard near Djeram Market

These cameras not only catch drivers who run red and yellow lights but also those that don’t wear seat belts, use of mobile phones and don’t follow traffic rules turning into the next lane.

Other cameras at Belgrade intersections will be successively added to the system in the coming period.

The system is automated and there is no possibility of “human factor” influence.

The Law on Road Traffic Safety prescribes a fine in the range of 20,000 to 40,000 dinars or a prison sentence of up to 30 days, 6 penalty points on a driver’s licence and a ban on driving a motor vehicle for at least three months for running a red light.
