Rakija Festival in Belgrade on 16th and 17th December

The fifth Serbian Brandy (Rakija) Festival, will take place at Dom Sindikata in Belgrade, on 16th and 17th December. Twenty two rakija producers from Serbia will take part, and the visitors will be able to try the best fruit brandies in the country.

“This festival is the most important promotional and tourist even in Serbia which greatly contributes to the popularization of the national fruit brandies”, said Ivan Urosevic, President of the Brandy Producers Group. “Last year, over 20,000 people visited the festival. This year, the brandy experts will rate all the brandies, not just those exhibited by the producers, but also the ones found in shops”.

The renowned rakija producers Stara Sokolova, Tok, Belobog, Zaric, Hubert 1924 and Gorda will be among the exhibitors.

Also, the visitors will be able to buy a tasting voucher for 50 Dinars with the entire proceeds going to the “Be Humane” charity organization. The festival is organized by the National Associations of Brandy Producers of Serbia “Srpska Rakija” and the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce’s Brandy Producers Group.

A small favour

Since 2013, Serbian Monitor has been offering to its readers carefully selected news about the Republic of Serbia, as a daily commitment stemming from the genuine desire to offer undistorted information about a country that is too often a victim of prejudice and superficiality. From November 2016, this service is available in English and Italian with a growing number of original articles with a goal of providing a complete picture of this Balkan country's economy, politics, culture and society. Our archive is completely free of charge, available to anyone who wants to get to know the country, to study its specific aspects, or to be constantly updated about it. This project will only be able to continue with the help of readers on whom we are calling to provide a small financial support so that we can continue supplying an increasingly expanding pool of information and original contributions.
