The legendary Public Image Ltd, led by the charismatic John Lydon, are returning to Belgrade after a full 13 years – this time in an intimate club setting that gives their energy a completely new dimension. The band will perform on Monday, 18 May at 9 pm at Zappa Barka.
Public Image Ltd (PiL) were formed in 1978, following the breakup of the Sex Pistols, and quickly became one of the most influential and innovative bands of the post-punk era. Their sound, blending elements of rock, dub, electronics and experimentation, pushed the boundaries of the music scene at the time and left a lasting impact on generations that followed.
Over the course of their career, PiL have achieved numerous major successes, including multiple Top 20 singles and albums in the UK. Their hits such as “Public Image”, “This Is Not a Love Song”, “Rise”, “Death Disco” and “Disappointed” are still regarded as key milestones in alternative music.
As part of their current tour, “This Is Not… The Final PiL Tour”, audiences in Belgrade will have a rare opportunity to experience the band up close – a band that, even after more than four decades, has lost none of its power, authenticity or artistic relevance. Since reforming in 2009, PiL have continued to record and perform actively, reaffirming their status as one of the most important bands in the history of contemporary music.
Tickets are available via Tickets.rs at a price of 5,000 RSD, as well as at Zappa Bar (Kralja Petra 41) for 4,000 RSD. On the day of the concert, tickets will cost 6,000 RSD.
