In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre in Zemun will stage the famous Mozart’s opera „Don Giovanni“ on 28th November, at 7:30 pm.
For this night only, Madlenianum will play host to the soloists, choir and orchestra of the National Theater in Belgrade, conducted by Marco Boemi from Italy, and directed by Alberto Triola, also from Italy. The monumental set of Don Giovanni is also designed by an Italian – Tiziano Santi.
The Don Giovanni opera stands side by side with the masterpieces of Mozart, such as The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and Cosi Fan Tutte, and its generally considered a matter of prestige for any theatre to stage at least one masterpiece of the child prodigy from Salzburg. „Don Giovanni“ is the third Mozart’s opera performed at the Opera & Theater Madlenianum (Cosi Fan Tutte in 2002, and The Magic Flute in 2013).
„Marking our 20th anniversary, I am happy to have this exceptional collaboration with our most important national theatre, and I believe that this collaboration will extend into the future“, said Andrej Rackov, director of Madlenianum.
