The Portuguese Grupo NOV and its Serbian company CNJ NEO have said that the construction of the wind farm and solar power plant Golubac should begin before the year’s end.
The total installed capacity of the Golubac wind and solar park will be 20 MW, that is, 10 MW from each of these two renewable sources.
NEO Energo plans to invest EUR 30 million in those capacities and power generation from renewable energy sources and projects that it will generate 35 GWh annually for the national power grid of Serbia.
“We are counting on completing everything we need to do (including permits) by June and then starting the construction of Golubac,” Carlos Conceicao, the engineering, energy and living environment director at Grupo NOV told the journalists from Serbia who visited Portugal under the auspices of the “Pulse of Europe – Media Trips to EU” project.
Grupo NOV is also open to “looking into the potential business opportunities in the sectors of water and waste management, alone or in partnership with Serbian companies.”
It has been estimated that the Golubac wind farm and solar park will cost EUR 30 million to build.
