According to the data collated by the National Bank of Serbia, the country exported 750 million EUR worth of ICT services this year – said the Minister without Portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development, Nenad Popovic.
In summing up the Ministry’s results this year, the Minister said that a lot was done in the information technology and digital economy segments in Serbia. He added that the Innovative Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Council, helmed by the Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, met yesterday, in order to discuss the results accomplished in 2017.
For the first time ever, the fifth graders in elementary school will learn information technology. Also, the government has built a student startup centre in the town of Nis, spanning 600 square metres, that is currently occupied by seven companies. Furthermore, the construction of two large science and technology parks is underway.
“The construction of the technology park in Novi Sad will be finished in early 2019. It will span 25,000 square metres. The Serbian government is funding the construction”, Popovic added.
