The Belgrade Poetry and Book Festival called “Wake up! Poetry!” (“Trgni se! Poezija!) will be held from May 22nd to 28th in Belgrade, Sremski Karlovci, Novi Sad and Vrsac – the Festival organizers said a press conference in Belgrade’s EU Info Centre today.
The slogan of the 13the Poetry and Book Festival is a line from the poem by Rastko Petrovic – “With a kiss on my lips so bright”. This year’s festival is also the homage to the 70th anniversary of the death of this important Serbian poet.
The festival will also host poets from several European countries including Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland and Croatia.
The festival locations include the National Library of Serbia, the Library of the City of Belgrade, the Goethe Institute in Belgrade, the Crocodile Centre for Contemporary Literature, the Polet Galleries, the EU Info Centre, the Faculty of Philosophy, the Faculty of Philology, the Philological Gymnasium, and the XIV Belgrade Gymnasium.
