The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS) has said that Prime Minister Ana Brnabić has reassured them that Fiat will stay in Serbia.
“PM Brnabić expressed her conviction that Fiat will stay in Serbia at the meeting with the of SSSS, Ljubisav Orbović, and representatives of the Fiat Automobili Srbija’s Trade Union, on whose initiative a meeting was convened,” the press release reads. It also says that that “this information could reduce tensions among the employees of the Kragujevac plant”.
“The fear for the future and survival of the factory is justified, considering that the employees have worked only 7 days this year and some have been invited to go to work in Slovakia for three months,” the SSSS press release says.
In addition to Orbović, the meeting was attended by the president and vice president of the Fiat Automobili Srbija Trade Union, Sasa Đorđević and Ivan Ristić, respectively.
