Deloitte will be the adviser in the privatization of Poljoprivredni Kombinat Beograda (PKB), the company’s management decided, as the Blic learns at the Ministry of Economy. Deloitte was the only one to submit their bid following the public call.
As the Ministry of Economy said for Blic, the Deloitte bid was also adopted by the commission for collection of bids for privatization adviser for the biggest Serbian agricultural company.
– The Ministry of Economy will propose the optimal way of privatization, taking into consideration the estimated value, the strategic importance of the company, as well as the expression of interest by investors, and the public invitation is to follow – the ministry says.
Letters of interest were sent by Matijevic and MK Group from Serbia, Al Dahra from the UAE, two companies from Great Britain, one from China and one from Singapore, as well as a businessman from Kovin.
The government expects the future owner to continue with the livestock breeding, and will not allow the land owned by PKB to be transformed into construction plots. PKB owns over 20,000 hectares of arable land, over 26,000 heads of cattle, agricultural machinery and equipment, greenhouses and 1,700 employees.
