Photo festival ‘Vizualizator’ opens in Belgrade

Photo festival ‘Vizualizator’ was opened on Sunday, November 25th, in the Parobrod Culture Centre, and will last until December 10th.

This year, the festival will feature internationally acclaimed photographers who are exhibiting rather intriguing photo content that will stir up your imagination.

The festival was opened with an exhibition by the controversial artist Diana Blok, who has an impressive and dynamic career exhibiting at museums around the world. Artist Donald Weber will present his work that focuses on the effects and consequences of world power.

As part of the festival, the activist magazine, Grain has also staged its exhibition in Parobrod which touches on issues concerning marginalized and stigmatized social groups. The students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts have also prepared their exhibition of moving photographs.

The visitors will also see a special exhibition comprising of photographs that are competing at the competition for the best media photography by Press Photo Serbia.

Also, during the festival, there will be various panel discussions about digitalization, media literacy and activist photography.

As the organizers say, ‘Vizualizator’ assumes the responsibility of educating audiences about the wider social significance and the use of photography as the rebellious form that has the capacity for criticism of the current world problems, as well as the extraordinary energy.

This photography festival will express its creativity not only through the photographs of renowned local and international photographers, but also through panel discussions covering current topics and interactive workshops for curators, students, students, and photographers, providing the audience with an opportunity to get acquainted with the most popular contemporary photography.
