Serbia is the third country in the world to sign an agreement with Pfizer stipulating the distribution of a new drug to combat the coronavirus infection and the first to be able to use it, according to Serbian Health Minister, Zlatibor Lončar.
“Serbia is the first country in the world to have a new experimental drug for the treatment of coronavirus, developed by the American pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, which reduces the risk of hospitalization and death from the coronavirus by 89%,” announced the Health Minister.
He told RTS that an agreement has just been signed with Pfizer on the distribution of the drug in Serbia. Lončar also explained that the drug blocks the enzyme that the coronavirus uses to multiply, and that, thanks to this drug, both mortality and hospital admissions are reduced by 89%.
