Globally recognised nightlife photographer and author of some of the most striking photographs from parties and festivals that have circulated across the region and the world for years, Marko Obradović – EDGE, traditionally organises the charity photography exhibition “People of the World”.
“People of the World” is an artistic and humanitarian project which, through authentic portraits of people from different parts of the world, captures identity, character and emotion. Established in 2020, the project takes place every two years, symbolically on 25 February, Marko’s birthday, transforming this personal date into an act of solidarity and togetherness.
Each new edition presents an entirely new series of works created during the journeys between two exhibitions, offering audiences the opportunity to experience, through the author’s lens, encounters with people whose stories transcend geography. The focus is not on destinations, but on gazes, presence and the moment.
The project’s author, Marko Obradović – EDGE, a multimedia artist and photographer, builds this segment of his work on direct encounters with people. His photographs arise from conversation, trust and genuine human contact. During his travels across various countries and continents, EDGE captures faces, emotions and identities that go beyond geographical boundaries. His approach is characterised by sincerity, respect and a strong desire for photography to serve as a means of connection, rather than merely an aesthetic object in space.
This year’s edition of the exhibition “People of the World” has a clear name and face. All funds raised are intended for the treatment of Sergej Bošnjak (age 14), a boy diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukaemia. Sergej has already undergone three cycles of chemotherapy, and the fourth is currently in progress.
