Over 120 actors to attend Niš Film Festival

Just four days remain until the start of Serbia’s largest acting and film event, the Niš Film Festival, which will take place from 29 August to 3 September under the slogan “More Than a Game”.

Ahead of the festival’s opening, the expert jury tasked with deciding the best performances of this year’s edition has been announced. The jury will comprise actresses Katarina Žutić, Paulina Manov, and Ivana Vuković, who will evaluate the acting performances in the competition line-up and select this year’s festival award winners.

From Saturday 29 August until the closing ceremony and awards presentation scheduled for 3 September 2026, more than 120 leading actors and filmmakers from Serbia and the region will walk the red carpet outside the Amphitheatre by the Nišava River.

Curated by selector Stefan Ivančić, the six-day festival will offer audiences 21 domestic films from the past two seasons – 19 in the competition programme and two featured out of competition.

This year brings as many as four film premieres: Our Father by director Goran Stanković, featuring notable roles by Vučić Perović, Boris Isaković, Jasna Žalica, and many others; the docudrama Index directed by Miloš Živanović, starring Petar Lazarević and Tihomir Stanić; A Crack in the Ice directed by Maja Miloš, starring Jovana Stojiljković, Marko Grabež, Anđela Jovanović, and Nataša Ninković; and Among the Gods by director Vuk Ršumović, starring Fereshteh Hosseini, Nikola Ristanovski, and Vule Marković.
