For the second consecutive year, the Belgrade National Theatre is holding an open-air theatre-musical event called “Opera on Water”. The show is scheduled for September 14 at 8 p.m. on the exclusive riverfront development on the Sava River, as part of the Belgrade Waterfront project.
This tradition began last September, when the first Water Opera is held, in honour of the 150th anniversary of the National Theatre. Last year, 5,000 people came to see the National Theatre ensemble performing the most famous operas. This was the first major outdoor performance of the National Theatre’s musical ensemble.
This year, audiences can expect an even better performance is expected since 2019 is the year in which the Belgrade Opera celebrates its centenary.
The aim of this outdoor opera event is to make this gala concert a tourist attraction and a regional event.
Admission is free.
