As of 1st January 2018, people will be able to register small businesses and one-member limited liability companies online via the website of the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
Also, once the company is registered, the Agency will send the relevant documents via email instead of regular post.
The plan is to make this service available for all company types including limited liability companies, shareholding companies and other legal entities that should be registered with the Business Registers Agency (associations, sports associations, endowments, foundations etc.).
Every month, close to 3,000 individuals decide to set up a small business, and a thousand of them want to establish a one-member limited liability company.
“We have also been working on setting up a regional business registry in collaboration with the Central Business Registry of Macedonia and the EBRD. In the following period, we expect Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the project too”, says Zvonko Obradovic, director of the Serbian Business Registers Agency.
The idea behind having the regional business registry is to ascertain good business practices and stop misuse on time. Apart from that, entrepreneurs in the region will be able to find all relevant data about a certain company in one place thanks to this registry.
