The Municipal Administration for Environmental Protection of Novi Sad has issued a public call for submission of offers for the design of the Petrovaradin Botanical Garden Complex.
The botanical garden will span 4.2 hectares and it will be located along the north-eastern edge of the Hornverk defence structures area.
The garden will consist of smaller and larger units, with a park area that will have a multifunctional purpose. It will also have a scientific-research unit.
The future complex will have a visitor centre, an exhibition and a business (scientific) part. The visitors’ centre area will include a sales area, offices, a multimedia room, a library, herbarium, a reading room, a small indoor museum, etc.
The exhibition area will feature a collection of shrubs, trees, annual and perennial herbaceous plants, a lake with aquatic and semi-aquatic plant species, a greenhouse with tropical and alpine species, a Japanese garden, fountains, sculptures, pergolas and benches.
