At the international Book Fair and the Art Expo exhibition, which will be held at the Novi Sad Fair from 17 to 23 March together with the Signposts Education Fair, the gaming fair NS Games & Tech Week and the Employment Fair, 200 exhibitors will take part, which is 25 more participants than last year.
This was confirmed today at a press conference by Slobodan Cvetković, General Director of the Novi Sad Fair, who emphasised that this year’s cultural event, for which entrance will be free, will be marked by a whole series of programmes.
“The Book Fair’s key theme is ‘The Days of Laza Kostić’ and the award of the same name, publishing achievements and the marking of anniversaries, but also the fact that exhibitors will offer books at prices up to 70 percent lower than in regular sales. The Novi Sad Student Cultural Centre has prepared screenings of three author films, the Art Exhibition will be marked by the presentation of works by numerous visual artists and the Sava Šumanović award, while schools from neighbouring countries have also shown interest in the Education Fair, which speaks sufficiently about its importance,” said Cvetković.
The Vojvodinian Secretariat for Culture, Public Information and Relations with Religious Communities will appear as an exhibitor which, as emphasised by Aleksandra Ćirić Bošković, the Provincial Secretary, demonstrates the support for publishing and for cultural institutions founded by the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.
“Twenty promotions of new books will be held, we will mark the anniversaries of Matica srpska, the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments and the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection, and there will be discussions about Svetozar Miletić, Jovan Đorđević, Sterija Popović, Zaharije Orfelin and others,” said Ćirić Bošković.
