The official opening of the Novi Sad BIG Children’s Summer event, organised by the Novi Sad Children’s Cultural Centre (DKCNS), took place on 21 June in the central hall of BIG Shopping Centre (11 Sentandrejski Put), and the programme will run until 28 August.
This year’s edition of the event is being held under the slogan “The Planet Is My Playground”, and throughout the summer, children aged four to fourteen will be offered a diverse programme of creative and educational workshops, as well as artistic and sporting activities.
A wide range of institutions and organisations are taking part in the programme, including the Archive of Vojvodina, the Museum of Vojvodina, the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection, the Museum of the City of Novi Sad, the Gallery of Matica Srpska, the Adžija Vocational Education Centre, the Centre for Theatre Research (CPI), Friends of Children of Novi Sad, Capoeira Academy Novi Sad, the Fine Arts Circle – Association of Artists of Petrovaradin Fortress, Kinesis MIX Sports Association, Children’s Harbour, Wonderland Adventure Park, Cubo Play, the Children’s Innovation Centre, the Bit IT Society, BIG Shopping Centre and Wood Play.
During July and August, children will take part in workshops covering art, crafts, science, programming, sports and creative games, as well as activities designed to encourage the development of motor skills and creative expression. The programme also includes visits to cultural institutions and Petrovaradin Fortress, together with family-oriented activities at BIG Shopping Centre.
Until the end of July, performances, workshops and entertainment programmes for children and parents will also be organised at BIG Shopping Centre between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
