The Novi Sad government is once again subsidising the purchase of bicycles this year. The public call for subsidy applications was published on 21 June in the daily newspaper Dnevnik.
All adults with permanent residence in the territory of the City of Novi Sad are eligible to apply, and applications will be submitted from 1 July at 12:00 to 3 July at 12:00.
The individual subsidy amount is 15,000 dinars.
In 2021, Novi Sad became the first city in Serbia to launch a bicycle purchase subsidy programme, through which nearly 8,000 new bicycles have been purchased so far. This year as well, the association Srbija Epik is implementing the project through which new bicycles will appear on the streets of Novi Sad.
According to the City Administration for Environmental Protection, public interest in the programme is extremely high, and the aim is to further encourage the use of bicycles as an environmentally friendly mode of transport and contribute to the continued development of sustainable mobility in the city.
