Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, an epidemiologist, a member of the government’s Crisis Response Team, said on Tuesday that the existing anti-coronavirus measures were sufficient and that no new measures would be introduced ahead of the festivities.
Addressing reporters after the Team’s meeting, she appealed to people to respect the existing limits, to get vaccinated and safeguard themselves and their families.
Kisic Tepavcevic added that COVID passes proved effective. To remind, COVID passes are required in indoor catering facilities after 8 pm.
“We have to be aware of the virus’ presence. We have officially registered the omicron strain, which spreads faster than others,” she warned.
In the meantime, the United Against COVID organisation warned the authorities about the necessity for stricter measures during the forthcoming festivities, but as before, their appeals went unanswered.
