No confirmed coronovirus patients in Serbia as yet

As of March 1, there are no cases of coronavirus (COVID-2019) registered in Serbia, announced the Ministry of Health on Sunday morning.

Samples taken from three people tested negative for the new virus, according to a statement published on the special website of the Ministry covid-19.rs.

It should be noted that until 1 March, 36 people were tested at the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute, which had all the prerequisites for such testing, but the samples were negative.

Since 24 February, correct algorithms have been applied in Serbia to act on the development of the epidemiological situation in the world, in particular in Italy.

As explained, the area of intense transmission of a virus is considered to be a state or part of a state where a large number of cases occurs for which it is not possible to determine the transmission chain.

At present, the areas of intense SARS-CoV-2 virus transmission are: China (in particular the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province), South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Iran and Italy, in particular the north of the country.
