As of 1 January, Croatia will become a member of the Eurozone and the decision to put the scientist Nikola Tesla on the 10-cent coin has attracted much attention.
The news has been received badly by people in Serbia, who claim that Nikola Tesla was ‘Serbian from birth’.
“Truth be told, Nikola Tesla is a Serb, of Serbian origin, which is unequivocal. On the other hand, he was never born in Croatia. Back at the time of his birth, there was no Croatia, but the territory was called Austria-Hungary,’ explains historian Vladimir Dobrosavljević.
