Night of the Theatre starts on Saturday in 13 towns in Serbia

On Saturday, November 17th, for the eighth consecutive time, an international theatre event, the Night of the Theater will be held in 13 different cities across Serbia.

The international network European Theatre Night is marking this year a small jubilee – its 10th anniversary, and in keeping with this jubilee, the event in Serbia is focusing on the history of theatre art in Serbia, with the slogan “History through the famous theatre personalities in our city”.

Over 40 different events will be held in the following cities on Saturday – Backa Palanka, Belgrade, Cukarica, Zemun, Rakovica, Vrbas, Krusevac, Nis, Novi Sad, Futog, Prijepolje, Zrenjanin and Cicevac. Cultural institutions and organizations in these cities have prepared a comprehensive programme. For more information, click here.

Project European Theatre Night is a one-day event dedicated to theatre and performing art. It is held simultaneously in 11 European countries (Croatia, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Austria and Hungary, and this year also joined the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Belgium), every year on the third Saturday in November. Theatre that day becomes the main point of meetings, dialogue, socializing and new insights of artists, theatre professionals and also the audience.

On that day of open doors, theatres and theatre companies offer their productions free of charge, in order to deepen the bond that already exists between them and their audience.
