Tax calendar, news and reminders for company owners, entrepreneurs and other taxpayers

Here are a few important reminders and pieces of news that company owners, company directors, finance/accounting departments and other taxpayers should be mindful of in the next period:

1. New, redesigned website of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR)

On April 15th, the Serbian Business Registers Agency has launched its new and improved official website. The new site is more customized to the needs of users and optimized for access and browsing through current web browsers, as well as access to content through mobile devices. Along with the Cyrillic and English language options on the site, as of April, the website’s content will be available in Latin alphabet too. Also, there is a keyword search option.

2. Tax calendar for May

May 6th – Deadline for submission of notifications on show business contracts concluded in the previous month

May 6th – Deadline for submission of the report on execution of the obligation of employment of persons with disabilities for the previous month

May 10th – Deadline for filing a tax return and payment of non-life insurance premiums for the previous month

May 10th – Deadline for filing a tax return and paying VAT for the previous month by the tax debtor referred to in Article 10 of the VAT Act

May 15th – Deadline for payment of monthly advance payment of the tax on the income from the performance of independent business activities

May 15th – Deadline for submission of tax returns for the annual income tax for the previous year

May 15th – Deadline for payment of contributions for priests and religious officials, for domestic nationals employed abroad and for foreign pensioners for the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for paying contributions for independent artists for the second quarter of 2019

May 15th – Deadline for payment of contributions for farmers for the second quarter of 2019

May 15th – Deadline for filing a tax return and paying VAT for the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for payment of advance payment of corporate income tax for the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for payment of calculated excise for the period from the 16th to the end of the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for filing a tax return for calculated excise for the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for submission of tax returns and payment of excise on total electric energy consumption for the previous month

May 15th – Deadline for filing a tax return on calculated contributions for compulsory social insurance for founders or members of the company

May 31st – Payment of compulsory social security contributions for unpaid earnings for April 2019

May 31st – Payment of calculated excise for the period from 1st to 15th day of the month

3. NBS: Benchmark interest rate remains unchanged

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Serbia decided to keep the benchmark interest rate at 3.0%.

4. Regulation on the tax declaration on the calculated tax by self-taxation and the corresponding contributions to the earnings or other types of income by a natural person as a taxpayer

5. Law on Registration Procedure in the Agricultural Registry

Published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, number 99 from December 27th, 2011, number 83 from August 5th, 2014 and number 31 from April 29th, 2019

6. Law on Employment of Foreign Nationals

Published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, number 128 from November 26th, 2014, number 113 from December 17th, 2017, number 50 from June 29th, 2018 and number 31 from April 29th, 2019

7. Employers no longer obligated to submit M4 forms

As of January 1st, 2019, employers are no longer obligated to submit the M4 forms to the State Pension and Disability Insurance Fund. In accordance with the above, employers are not obligated to submit the M4 forms for 2018 and subsequent years and M-UN applications for 2019 and subsequent years.
