New motorway toll increase expected this summer

Drivers in Serbia are facing another round of motorway toll increases, as a further adjustment of toll prices has been announced for this summer.

The Serbian Government has already announced a new increase in July 2026. According to the announcement, the rise will be implemented through regular indexation in line with inflation, meaning that motorists will once again pay more to use the country’s motorways.

The most recent increase came at the beginning of 2026, when motorway tolls rose by around 4.3% per kilometre travelled, in line with previous adjustments for inflation and maintenance costs.

According to the toll rates that have been in force since the start of 2026, passenger vehicles (Category I) pay the following amounts:

  • Belgrade – Preševo: 2,060 dinars
  • Belgrade – Niš: 1,170 dinars
  • Belgrade – Novi Sad: 340 dinars
  • Belgrade – Subotica: 850 dinars
  • Belgrade – Šid: 520 dinars

Before that, tolls were increased on 4 July 2025, when charges also rose by an average of 4.3% per kilometre travelled, in line with the annual adjustment for inflation.

Although the exact percentage of the upcoming increase has not yet been announced, the government has already stated that motorway tolls will continue to be adjusted in line with inflation. As a result, motorists are almost certain to face another toll increase during 2026.
