Many of them, he added, came from abroad – about 200 from Turkey, India, the Philippines and other countries, because there are not enough welders, carpenters and many other craftsmen in Serbia.
Vučić also pointed out that he is proud that the Belgrade Waterfront real estate project, which initially had the support of only 29% of citizens in Serbia, is now supported by over 70% of them, as well as that Belgrade is becoming a European and world metropolis, which will be able to generate more revenue for Serbia and attract more tourists.
Belgrade Waterfront is the largest construction site in south-eastern Europe, with 2,850 people working on it, of which 2,650 are local and from the region and 200 come from faraway countries.
“This also makes you understand how much manpower is needed in some areas of Serbia and how much space there is for creation of new jobs,” said Vučić after visiting the construction site.
Vučić thanked the CEO of Eagle Hills, Mohamed Alabbar, for everything that has been done so far, and informed that the Galerija Shopping Centre will be ready in a month, a month and a half maximum.
