The deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić said that the project of the construction of the new main bus station in block 42 in Novi Beograd was moving along and that the station elevation plan should have been completed by the year-end.
“We have to finish all the work up to level 0, i.e. up to ground level. There is a lot of underground work to be done here, but the construction of the new bus station should be finished and all the ancillary services should become available by the end of next year,” Vesić announced.

He reminded that the station was not being built by the City of Belgrade, but the BAS Company, which is also the owner and the operator of the bus station.
“The city merely provides the land and will be a co-owner in a part of the business premises at the new station. The construction is financed with the funds secured by BAS. Also, next year, we will expand all the traffic routes around the station, since relocating the station to Novi Beograd will cause more traffic,” Vesić added.
