Nedimovic-Manzo: To increase Italian investments in agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Branislav Nedimovic met on Monday with the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Mr. Giuseppe Manzo. After the meeting, he said that there are opportunities for higher Italian investments in the Serbian agriculture and food industry and added that the government would create a favourable legal framework to support those investments.

The two sides agree that the agricultural and food sector is one of the most important and most promising in the Serbian economy.

Nedimovic also said that investments in fruit and vegetable growing sector, processing industry, as well as meat and dairy industries were the priorities which his Ministry would work on in the following period by developing financial support in the form of loans and subsidies that would be available in a much bigger volume than before.

Removing non-customs barriers in veterinary and phytosanitary segments is also something that the Italian Embassy and the Ministry’s departments would work on together in order to boost the trading between the two countries – a press release states.

Our archive is completely free of charge, available to anyone who wants to get to know the country, to study its specific aspects, or to be constantly updated about it. This project will only be able to continue with the help of readers on whom we are calling to provide a small financial support so that we can continue supplying an increasingly expanding pool of information and original contributions.
