“In terms of Komercijalna Banka, the state is not in the position to rush the privatization of any institution, including such good financial institutions as Komercijalna Banka, without looking into the advantages of the existence of one such bank, which is the leading bank in the market and the bank in which the state is the majority owner”, she said.
She added that the future co-owner and a shareholder in Komercijalna Banka could only be an entity that was desirable as an investor, in terms of its financial strength, and that it had experience in managing financial institutions and a long-term orientation toward contributing to the already strong position of the financial system in Serbia.
The state has a 41.7% stake in Komercijalna Banka, and with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) having a 24.43% share, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) 10%.
