National Theatre in Belgrade to stream its repertoire online

The National Theatre (Narodno Pozoriste) in Belgrade has announced on Instagram that it will start streaming its repertoire online, i.e. opera, theatre and ballet performances.

Due the Theatre’s closure as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, the Theatre announced the free streaming of its operas, theatre and ballet performances, inviting fans to vote for their favourite performances.

“We will stream our performances (recorded in HD) online, because we want to stay close to our audience in these difficult times and help them to adhere to the measures implemented by the Serbian government, eliminate anxiety and encourage them to stay home,” said the Theatre’s director Ivana Vujic, adding: “The repertoire will be announced on our website, Facebook page and Instagram. We want to pamper our audiences while they are in self-isolation, so we have decided to go to them instead of them coming to us.”

The live stream starts on March 17, at 9 pm, with the play “Bela Kafa”.
