Mystery new investor coming to Vranje

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Dragan Stevanovic announces the arrival of a large investor in Vranje that will employ 2,500 workers.

He refuses to disclose the company’s name “not to jeopardize the rather difficult negotiations that are going well.”

“We need to be careful and we cannot in any way jeopardize the arrival of this investor in Vranje”, the State Secretary said.

Stevanovic added that the ministry had invested more than 250 million dinars in the infrastructural equipping of the Vranje Free Zone, where a 600-metre-long road connecting two roundabouts between the factories of Italian investors already operating in Vranje, Geox and Ditre Italia, is currently being built.

“The road will cost around half a million euro to be built. The city has set aside EUR 200,000, whereas EUR 300,000 is donated by the European Union through the EU Progress Programme. There’s a strategic plan for the infrastructural equipping of the Free Zone. So far, we have completed the sewage system, all with the support of the Ministry of Economy”, says Vranje Mayor, Slobodan Milenkovic.
