‘My Pompeii’ exhibition at the Italian Institute of Culture

The Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade presents the exhibition “My Pompeii – two thousand years later” by Boško Jovanović, which will be open from January 25 to February 28.

The exhibition includes a selection of paintings and watercolours inspired by ancient Pompeii, one of the most visited archaeological sites in the world which has been named one of the world heritage sites and is under the protection of UNESCO. In 1998, thanks to the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade, Boško Jovanović was given the opportunity to access the site of Pompeii, witness the excavation work and made sketches of newly excavated artefacts on the site.

The painter Boško Jovanović attended stained glass and glass fusion master workshops in Italy. He is a member of ULUPUDS and the Design section of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. He worked on the creation of iconostasis frescoes and painted glass windows in numerous churches, both Orthodox and Roman Catholic.
