Museums, poetry and wine this coming weekend in Belgrade and Novi Sad

It’s Thursday, and time for our report about the cultural and entertainment events coming up in the next few days.


Event: The Night of Museums

Place: All over Serbia

Time: 19th May, from 5pm to 1am

The Nigh of Museums is definitely one of the most popular cultural events in Serbia. The 15th Night of Museums is being held on Saturday, 19th May. The programme’s theme of this year’s Night of Museums is “Victories and Winners”. This year marks the centenary of the end of the World War I which was an inspiration for this year’s event which will celebrate personal, intimate and human victories in life, art, enlightenment, culture, science, in everything that makes the world around us more content, more important and more valuable. The 15th Night of Museums is inspired by the rich heritage, which is a mixture of tradition and innovations. Event: Poetry and Short Story Youth Festival

Place: Belgrade and Pancevo

Time: 17th – 19th May

The Poetry and Short Story Youth Festival called Rukopisi 41 will take place this weekend and will gather young poets and writers of short stories from the former Yugoslavia. This year, 61 authors from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Macedonia will participate in the Festival. The three-day festival will be held in Pancevo and Belgrade, with the central reading programme taking place on 19th May in Pancevo. Event: Spring Wine Festival

Place: International Agricultural Fair

Time: 18th and 19th May

Over 100 of the finest wine and rakija producers will be exhibiting at this year’s Spring Wine Festival that takes place on the premises of the Novi Sad Fair, under the auspices of the International Agricultural Fair. Both domestic and foreign wine producers will participate in the festival including, Dolia Nova, Le More del Gelso – Cantina Seiterre, Ca’d’Or Wine, Distilleria Marzadro, Antica Distilleria Petrone, Grapevine Experience, Umberto Cesari, Maison Castel Cameroun, Vinos de familia García Carrión, and Dr. Loosen Wines. Also, several eminent food producers will exhibit their gastronomic delights at the Festival.
