Aircraft engine manufacturer, MTU Aero Engines announced today that it would open its factory in Serbia, in Nova Pazova, and that the production will be launched in early 2022.
According to media reports, the company plans to open a local branch soon which will be in charge of recruitment of personnel, who are going to be employed at the initial stage.
After a meeting with Michael Schreyögg, a board member at MTU, in Paris, the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic welcomed the company’s decision and said that the presence of this global corporation in the Serbian market would be crucial for creating a national aviation cluster.

After visiting MTU’s booth at the aviation fair in Le Bourget, France, and meeting with Schreyögg, the prime minister handed over a letter to him, once again confirming the support to the partnership.
Schreyögg mentioned the meeting which took place in early May when the Memorandum of Understanding was signed and repeated that the plan was for the company to start operating in Serbia in 2020 and to employ around 400 people.
He added that MTU’s investment in Serbia would create several hundred new jobs and that a sharp increase in the number of employees in the first years of operations was also planned.
MTU develops, manufactures and provides service support for military and civil aircraft engines. MTU Aero Engines was formerly known as MTU München. The company’s annual revenue is around EUR 4.7 billion.
