The Mosaic Festival, an art project created by Petar Vujošević, will be held for the second time from December 15th to January 11th at Kuca Legata (The House of Legacies) in Belgrade.
The festival is an international event which aim is to promote mosaic as a segment of fine arts, as well as to present current trends and tendencies in contemporary mosaic making.
The festival will showcase a wide range of artwork; from completely classical to mosaics that abandon the traditional approach to mosaic technique, are experimental and blend with other fine arts media.
This year, the Festival will feature 90 artists from the country and abroad, who are going to exhibit over 100 mosaics.
One segment of the Festival will be homage to artist Snezana Marinkovic (1949-2007).
In addition to exhibited mosaics, the Festival will also feature lectures on contemporary mosaics and history of mosaics, while some of the exhibited artists will present their personal poetics.
Plust, there will be a mosaic workshop and a one-day presentation of the sgraffito technique.
Petar Vujošević graduated and got his Master’s degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, plus he graduated journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences.
