In the first five months of this year, car sales in Serbia were 38% lower than in the same period in 2019. The president of the Association of Serbian Motor Vehicle Importers, Milan Belin, said that in the second half of May and June 2020, car sales started to grow, after a standstill in March and April due to the pandemic.
“Car sales increased from mid-May to June, because all the people who were planning to buy a car at the Belgrade Auto Show, which was cancelled, decided to buy it after the pandemic calmed down somewhat,” said Belin.
He added that car sales, in the first five months of 2020, were 38% lower than in the same period in 2019.

Bellin also said that car sales stopped again in July 2020, but the reason for that is the beginning of the holiday season.
The best-selling car brand in Serbia is Škoda, while Fiat vehicles are ranked second.
According to Belin, the prices of cars sold range from 10,000 to 35,000 euro. Private citizens spend between 10,000 and 15,000 euro on a car on average, while the most expensive vehicles are bought by companies.
