Come the end of June, Serbia will ready to open five more negotiation chapters in its EU accession talks, Serbia’s chief negotiator Tanja Miscevic has said.
It is still unknown when the next intergovernmental conference in Brussels will be held and how many chapters we will open, but we are maintaining the pace of the process, Miscevic said, according to the Tanjug newswire.
While three chapters are being discussed in Brussels, it is quite certain that the following two will be opened in June – Chapters 7 (intellectual property) and 29 (customs union).
“We will have five chapters waiting to be opened in Brussels by the end of the Maltese presidency, and there will be a discussion about them. But we must be fully aware that the procedures for the adoption of documents in the EU are very long and they include discussions not only in Brussels but in the capital of each of the 28 member-states,” Miscevic told Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS).
