Miroslav Lazanski, a member of the Serbian National Assembly from the ruling SNS and a military commentator, will be Serbia’s new ambassador to Russia.
The proposal to appoint Lazanski as the head of our embassy in Moscow was adopted at a government session last week. Lazanski will be replacing Slavenko Terzic, whose four-year term as ambassador expired back in 2017.
This is the first in a series of changes in Serbia’s diplomatic network, considering that almost half of the 69 ambassadors posted abroad have been serving longer than their terms.

The Serbian authorities are also due to appoint new ambassadors to China, Ukraine, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Albania, to name a few.
The unofficial information from the diplomatic circles is that the current ambassador to Ukraine, Rade Bulatovic, could be moved to Macedonia as a replacement for Dusanka Divjak Tomic.
