Minth Metal Parts Balkan d.o.o. Majur, Šabac, part of the Minth Group which manufactures automotive components, is launching a project to build another Minth factory in the city on the River Sava.
This investment by Minth Metal Parts Balkan is the fourth in Šabac, and the new facility will produce decorative trims and sealing components.
The first plant, for the production of aluminium car parts, was built in 2022 by Minth United AlloyTech Europe. The following year saw the start of construction of the second Minth factory, an aluminium processing foundry, Minal Europe Green Material, followed by a third factory by investor Minth Automotive Europe for the production of battery housings for electric vehicles.
The Mayor of Šabac, Aleksandar Pajić, announced as early as the beginning of 2023 that construction of the fourth factory, Minth Metal Parts Balkan (MMB), would begin by the end of the year.
MMB has now submitted a request to the relevant ministry for a decision on the need to carry out an environmental impact assessment for the project. The study was prepared by ECOlogica URBO d.o.o. from Kragujevac.
According to the project, the new factory will be located in the Sever industrial zone in Šabac, on a plot covering 100,000 square metres (cadastral plot no. 2780/31, Majur cadastral municipality).
The factory is being built in the immediate vicinity of the existing Minth facilities: Minal Europe Green Material d.o.o., Minth Automotive Europe and United Alloy-Tech Europe d.o.o., with which it will form an automotive complex. A total of 18 buildings are planned, including two production halls, while the remaining 16 will be auxiliary and supporting structures. The total gross ground-floor area of all buildings amounts to 41,205.89 square metres.
The factory is focused on the production of decorative trims and sealing parts made of aluminium or stainless steel and plastic pellets, including front and rear door wing trims, roof trims, lower outer OBM trims, front and rear triangular window trims, guide rails and partition guides, and door sealing trims.
Upon completion of construction, the planned annual capacity of the factory for 2033 is 36 million decorative trims and 136 million sealing components.
The installation of 14 co-extrusion lines, 20 bending machines, 15 cutting machines, 33 robotic arms for positioning and welding ends, and 40 additional machines is planned.
It is noted that the Minth production complex uses state-of-the-art BAT technology, with environmental impact strictly defined.
