Miloš Vučević main candidate for the new leader of the Serbian Progressive Party?

By deciding to assign Ana Brnabić the role of mandate holder for the composition of the new Government of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić denied Miloš Vučević the opportunity to try out for one of the most important positions in the country. However, according to Nova.rs, Vučević is the most serious candidate for becoming the new leader of Serbian Progressive Part.

Explaining the decision to trust Brnabić again this time, Vučić said that the current prime minister has experience and that she will be in that position until 2024. “Miloš needs a little more time to live and learn. I also needed time to learn from 2017. Miloš is now in one of the key positions in the Government, he will bring great energy,” said Brnabić.

“Miloš Vučević is someone who fully fits the profile of the person who should succeed Vučić as president. Vučić drew attention after the Presidency, when he spoke about him and Ana Brnabić, that someone can’t get everything and someone nothing, “pointed out the source of the Serbian Progressive Party for NovaS. President Aleksandar Vučić announced on several occasions in the past that he would leave the leadership of the party, but he never fulfilled that promise. Additionally, numerous candidates were mentioned as successors, but according to Vučić, they were mostly people who recommended themselves for the position.

“Vučević has been there for a very long time, he knows how the party works, and in addition to all that, he also has qualities that Vučić especially appreciates – he is loyal and available at all times”, says interlocutor of NovsS.

After the end of the Progressive Party Presidency its leader spoke about the candidates for the mandate and about the changes in the party, so it was clear that something major will happen at the upcoming Serbian Progressive Party Assembly, which is expected by the end of the year.

“The story about the position of party president lasted the longest. Maybe an hour of discussion about that, but that’s not the question for today and it’s not the question for you. Maybe when the time comes for the Party Assembly. Then it will be the topic for you too”, said Vučić in his address to the media.
