The Belgrade-based company Millennium Team has bought the assets of the Navip Company, close to Novi Sad, for 216 million dinars, although it had been estimated that the value of the company’s assets was 705 million dinars, which mostly consist of vineyards.
According to the Voice website, only one other company took part in the public bidding for Navip – Surčin-based ‘Rekonstrukcija i Izgradnja Puteva’ whose director is Boško Buha, the son of a protected witness and a member of a mafia clan, Ljubiša Buha Čume.
When Millennium Team’s representative was asked whether the company would continue doing Navip’s core business activity, which is viticultural production in Petrovaradin and Sremska Kamenica, he said that “the land is currently being examined and the possibilities for raising new vineyards on that site are being considered.”
However, the locals are sceptical since the land that Millennium Team has bought is quite attractive for residential construction, and they add that certain property developers are already building in the area surrounding the Navip complex.
Millennium Team ended the last business year with a net profit of about one billion dinars, while a year earlier the company’s net profit was about 370 million dinars.
