Good weather and no traffic jams will prevail in the coming holiday days – the Automobile Association of Serbia (AMSS) announced this morning.
Although many people have already left for their May holiday, the traffic is somewhat heavier and a there is a slightly higher number of vehicles, primarily on motorways, as well as on all roads that lead to tourist destinations and excursion locations.
Drivers are advised be more cautious behind the steering wheel, and to pay special attention to motorway sections that are being repaired at the moment.
According to the latest information from the Putevi Srbije public enterprise, there are not queues at toll stations. According to the Border Police Directorate, the waiting time at border crossings is up to 30 minutes.
In cooperation with AMSS and the traffic police, two web cameras are running on the AMSS websites which are monitoring the situation at the crossing Batrovci, on the Croatian-Serbian border.
The plan is to run more cameras at three quite frequent border crossings – Horgos, Presevo and Gradina – ahead of the tourist season.
Long lines of vehicles are usually formed at the Serbian-Hungarian border and the waiting time there runs into hours.
